During EDM cutting, pulse discharge is performed between the electrode wire and the work piece, as shown in Figure 1. When an electric pulse comes, a spark discharge is generated between the electrode wire and the work piece. In the center of the discharge channel, the temperature can reach over 10,000 instantaneously, and the high temperature melts the work piece metal, thereby achieving the purpose of cutting metal.
